I love meeting with new couples. Not only is it a perfect time for us to sit down and chat about the wedding in a casual and relaxed environment, it opens up to just getting to know each other a little better. For my work, that is important. I have stressed many times that a connection must be made before we can continue. Now, before you think I need to get off my high horse consider the following: You’re asking a complete stranger to accompany you and your partner on one of the most important days of your lives. Wouldn’t you want to hire someone who can, not just takes nice pictures, but who is emotionally invested in you? That way, they understand and document the connections you have with your family, friends and of course, your partner. I am so happy that my couples value and understand this, it is because of this relationship that I am able to create the imagery you see on my site.
So, back to why I started this post in the first place…I first met Theresa and Nitin just a couple of days before their wedding. I have to say…not my typical style, however over email and Skype, I got to learn a lot about Theresa and Nitin. They found me through a past bride, Suzanne Ma and one of their Maid of Honours (thanks Stephanie!!), their love of sleep (wait…that’s more Theresa than Nitin), being super fun and so in love. The moment I hit the red hangup button on Skype I knew this was going to be an awesome wedding. Our meeting at a bar just days before their wedding solidified this even more, they were my kind of Tolberone loving, beer drinking, food enjoying kind of couple.
Here are just a few of my favourite images from their wedding up in Horseshoe Valley.
